- Vitamin B12 May Protect Against Brain Shrinkage
While two national studies found that most Americans consume recommended amounts of B12, others suggest that two out of five people are deficient in the vitamin. Early and fairly pronounced deficiency does not always cause distinct or specific symptoms, but even low levels of vitamin B12 may be contributing to brain atrophy.
- The Growing Epidemic of Sleeplessness
Insomnia is a difficult to treat health problem for countless people of all ages in the US. It is estimated that at least 32 million Americans (1 in 8) are chronically affected by some form of sleeplessness that includes too little or poor quality sleep, difficulty falling asleep, waking up during the night, and feeling tired or not refreshed in the morning. Can there be a safe and effective solution for the millions who are sleep deprived?
- Healthy Vision
The eye is an amazing organ comprised of numerous structures working synergistically together to produce sight. As we age, our eyesight naturally declines causing a reduction in the size of the pupil, meaning less light reaches the retina. Because of this, we cannot focus as clearly nor see as well in dimly lit environments. A decrease in the number of neurons in the visual pathway diminishes our contrast sensitivity, causing us to have more difficulty distinguishing fine details.
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Latest estimates reveal that between 800,000 and 2 million Americans are struggling with chronic fatigue syndrome. Although anyone (even children) can be affected by CFS, it strikes women more often and much harder. Over 85% of CFS victims are women, usually between 30 and 50. Women under 45 are at the highest risk.
